Turbine blades are an ideal candidate for Cell3 based CFD and CAE driven design.

The blade is described as a single Nurbs surface including the base radius blend. Therefore the control points of the Nurbs can be adjusted and moved during an optimization driven design study without requiring any user CAD input. Design changes to the control points are automatically conveyed to the Cell3 which in turn make the required mesh adjustments.

When searching for the final 1 to 2% in blade efficiency it is imperative that the mesh be of the highest possible standard.
